A guy who was wanted for killing an elderly couple with a bludgeon at their house in Massachusetts early last week was taken into custody in Florida over the weekend, according to the authorities there.
Christopher Keeley, 27, was taken into custody by law enforcement in Miami Beach, Florida, at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Saturday in the vicinity of 925 West 41st Street, according to a statement released by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts.
Since Tuesday, when police received a phone shortly before 9:20 p.m. asking them to do a well-being check on Carl and Vicki Mattson, both 70, at their house in Marshfield, located approximately 30 miles south of Boston, the authorities had been searching for Keeley.
According to the office of the district attorney, when the officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the bodies of the victims with “clear evidence of trauma.”

“The victims, who were bludgeoned and stabbed, were declared to have died on the scene,” it said, adding that police also discovered a dead dog inside the property. “The victims were determined to be deceased on the scene,” it said.
The details surrounding the double homicide have not been made public, however, the authorities have stated that it does not appear that their deaths were the result of a random act of violence.
The Commonwealth Fusion Center of the Massachusetts State Police issued a “be on the lookout” order on Wednesday for Keeley, who was named as a person of interest in the crime, as well as for a black Jeep Wrangler, which investigators later found in a parking lot in Avon. Keeley was named as a person of interest in the crime.
The jail records from Miami-Dade County indicate that Keeley was taken into custody because she was wanted on a warrant from another state.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in court so that the judge can decide whether or not he will waive rendition prior to being extradited to Massachusetts to face charges there.
