Florida Veterinarian Gets 22 Years In Jail For Sexually Abusing Dogs, Child Porn

A Florida veterinarian has been sentenced to more than 22 years in prison in Miami federal court for sexually abusing dogs, posting bestiality videos online, and collecting child pornography, authorities said.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida, Prentiss Madden, 40, pleaded guilty in July to child porn and animal cruelty charges. Madden, who practiced in Aventura, Florida, was sent to prison Friday by U.S. District Judge Jose Martinez in Miami, Independent reported.

Veterinarian Shared Animal Abuse Videos

At Miami federal court hearing, prosecutors said that Madden had recorded and shared videos of himself sexually abusing dogs. According to the report, homeland Security agents raided his home and discovered the footage, as well as chats about bestiality, on his cell phones. He also had numerous images of child pornography stored on his cellphone and chatted about them with many others.

Madden was found guilty on July 29 of child pornography, animal crush, and animal torture charges, which include bestiality, reported Miami Herald.

‘Abused In Childhood’

On behalf of the veterinarian, his lawyers sought a lighter sentence, claiming that Madden suffered from mental problems abuse by his parents and a family friend as a child.

Once he is released, Madden will remain on probation for 25 years and must register with Florida as a sex offender.

Juan Antonio Gonzalez, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida; Anthony Salisbury, Special Agent in Charge, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Miami Field Office; and Alfredo Ramirez, III, Director, Miami Dade Police Department, announced the verdict in the case.

The case was investigated by HSI Miami and Miami Dade Police Department, with assistance from the Hialeah Police Department, U.S Customs and Border Protection, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
