According to civil rights attorney Ben Crump, a white neighbour in Florida sh0t and mu*dered a Black mother of four who was trying to reclaim an iPad that had been stolen from her child. Crump criticized the lack of progress in bringing those responsible for the “unjust killing” of Ajike “AJ” Owens, 35, to justice on Monday.

At a press conference on Monday afternoon, Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods was more reserved, telling reporters that the shooting appeared to be the climax of a conflict between the neighbours. According to Woods, in the past 2.5 years, law enforcement officials had to respond “six to eight” times to this location.
The shooter had tossed a pair of skates towards Owens’ children before the tr@gic incident, but he was unable to confirm that Owens was trying to reclaim an iPad when she was slain. I’d get really angry if someone threw something at my kid, he said. Obviously, any parent would be. Who wouldn’t be irritated by that, whether or not it was thrown on purpose?

I wish the shooter had called us before we had to resort to force. I really wish Mrs Owens had called us so things wouldn’t have escalated to this point. Woods said the sh00ter was being “cooperative” but did not give any details about her identity. Noting that not all the kids who saw what happened had been interrogated yet, he asked the community to be patient while the inquiry continued.
He said, “We’re not cold-hearted bastards, we’re not going to interview children the night they possibly witnessed the k!lling of their mother.” Let’s just wait for now. Experts and counsellors will sit down with them, but I want the family and friends to know that my office will do everything possible to bring justice.

According to neighbours who talked to the Ocala Star-Banner, the event took place as youngsters were playing in the grass in front of a duplex building in the development. They claimed a woman exited from one of the apartments, tossed something at the kids, picked up an iPad, and then went back inside.
According to the neighbour, Owens went to the woman’s door after hearing the news from one of the kids. She approached her, and “there was a lot of aggressiveness from both of them, back and forth, whether it was banging on the doors, banging on the walls, and threats being made,” Woods said.
Mrs Owens was shot through the door at that very moment. When the inquiry was over, he said it will be turned over to the state attorney’s office in Marion County. In recent weeks, there have been multiple sh00tings involving people who appeared to be in the wrong place or acting inappropriately. A New York man sh0t and mu*dered a lady in April because he didn’t want her car in his driveway.
While returning from an event in Texas, two cheerleaders were sh0t, one gravely, when one of them opened the door of a car she thought was hers. Days prior, a Black 16-year-old named Ralph Yarl had been shot and wounded after knocking on the wrong door while trying to retrieve his siblings in Kansas City. All three gunmen have been arrested and charged.
