According to an arrest record, a woman was stopped for operating a golf cart while intoxicated on Florida’s busiest interstate while carrying an open bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey in a bag. On Saturday night, the 58-year-old woman was taken into custody on the shoulder of Interstate 95. She is currently charged with disorderly intoxication in a public place and resisting an officer without using force, both minor offences.
A semi-truck driver observed the woman operating the golf cart in the centre lane of Interstate 95 in Brevard county, which is located in the centre of Florida’s Space Coast, according to a Florida highway police report. According to the report, the truck driver claimed she “saw the driver of the golf cart dropping out while driving.” According to troopers, the truck driver steered the golf cart to the freeway shoulder using her semi.
The woman attempted to drive away on the golf cart, but the truck driver seized the keys as soon as they were on the shoulder. The woman started arguing with the troopers when they arrived and maintained she needed her bag. According to reports, the troopers discovered an open bottle of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire Whiskey inside the luggage. According to the Federal Roadway Administration, Florida’s busiest interstate highway is Interstate 95, which runs the length of the state’s east coast.
