The crash happened at 3:25 a.m. on Saturday, January 21st, on Golf Course Drive east of Taft Road in the Township of Taycheedah, prompting the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office to respond. Officials arrived to find a 16-year-old Eldorado boy sitting in the front passenger seat, dead from the collision. The vehicle’s driver, a 16-year-old boy from the Mount Cavalry area, was also injured and taken by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center for care.

A 16-year-old girl from Fond Du Lac was a passenger; she was not seriously hurt and was taken by EMS to SSM Health – St. Agnes. It appears from the preliminary investigation that the car was going west on Golf Course Drive at high speeds when it crashed. The car drifted to the north shoulder when the driver lost control, and it collided with a tree.
According to authorities, both alcohol and speed had a role in what ultimately caused the collision. All three of these young adults went to a separate high school, yet they all ended up at Rosendale’s Laconia. Both Fond du Lac High School and St. Mary’s Springs Academy in Font du Lac. Names of the minors have not been revealed pending notification of relatives. The Sheriff’s Office has contacted the three schools so that they can be ready to aid pupils if necessary.
