Kohske is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series Gangsta (stylized as GANGSTA). Since March of 2011, it has been included in Shinchosha’s Monthly Comic @BUNCH magazine. There have been manga spin-offs, an audio drama series, an anime television series, and a novel written based on the franchise.
The show follows two “Handymen” as they take on difficult tasks for the Mafia and the police. Worick Arcangelo and Nicolas Brown are two workers in the seedy town of Ergastulum, which is home to the mafia, thugs, whores, and corrupt law enforcement. Worick had just finished a job smashing a gang, and they took the (amnesic) lone survivor, Alex, under their wing to assist him out for the time being.

Gangsta Season 1 Recap
I believe that Gangsta. establishes a high bar for what, with any luck, will be presented in the new anime season that has just started. Even though on paper, there isn’t much new here, as we are introduced to the characters involved, we begin to watch the show slowly bloom into something that might be a bit more than your typical “Let’s Take Down the Mob” type of show.
For example, while there isn’t much new here, the show does a good job of showing us how the characters interact with each other. For the most part, I attribute this to the fact that you are given just enough to get interested, as opposed to the typical problem that a lot of animes have, which is that it often seems like it starts off high and then seems like it can only go downhill from there, or it seems like you’ll be starting at the bottom and working your way up toward the show being good.
In this show, however, you are given just enough to get interested, and I mainly attribute this to the fact that you are given just enough Which is something I contribute to, mostly, in the form of the would-be anti-heroes known as the Handymen, Worlick, and Nicolas.
Two fellas, one of whom may be missing an eye and the other of whom is damn near deaf, are designed to look cool without it appearing as though the animators or voice actors were even trying very hard.
With this, whether it was Worlick and Nicolas taking a homeless girl named Alex under their wing and giving her a job or them working with a crooked cop named Chad to take down an up-and-coming gang, I just felt like the situation reminded me of the first few episodes of Daredevil, in a way, in terms of a good mix between story and violence, while also revealing a slight soft spot on the part of the leads. This was true whether it was them

Gangsta Season 3 Review
The only real problem with this anime is its sudden ending. The series has great potential if more episodes are made. When I read these reviews, I feel like I’m reading something written by a child who hasn’t seen the show and thinks it’s useful.
Perhaps they are too young or immature to deal with such serious issues. The inclusion of prostitution and a fair portrayal of those involved were concerns raised in one of the “most helpful” reviews. In many ways, this is a quite progressive program, with ideals that may be at odds with those of the general public.
They will probably cast their ballots for Trump. When it comes to depth and innovation, this anime was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Prostitutes were not stigmatized in any way in the show’s depiction of the industry.
In one anime, the main character is a deaf man who, for most of the show, tries to persuade the viewers that he is the most important, worst badass in town. Although it is extremely realistic in its depiction of terrible situations, the typical spectator may find themselves emotionally removed from the characters’ plights.
Despite the brutality, they show the victims, even prostitutes, as drugged and dependent on their attackers. One of the unfavorable evaluations made an unfounded argument about the importance of the tags’ ranking system. This is truer than ever for the show’s main characters. Never before have I seen a cartoon that looked so lifelike. Those that offer poor ratings will gain insight as they get older.
