The Democratic governor of California, Gavin Newsom, has stated that he is no longer in contact with his ex-wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who served as an adviser to President Trump.
In a recent interview with MSNBC, Newsom was asked whether or not he still communicates with Guilfoyle, who is now engaged to Donald Trump Jr. He responded, “Nope, not lately.”
During the early 2000s, the Democratic politician and Guilfoyle shared a brief marriage. Many people believe that the politician could one day run for president of the United States.
During the time that Trump was in office, Newsom had what he called an “interesting” but “not as adversarial” relationship with Guilfoyle, as he mentioned in an interview with MSNBC that was broadcast on Wednesday.
“Even though we went at it on a lot of subjects, we also found ways to get along,” Newsom said. “We had a lot of disagreements, but we also found ways to get along.”

If current President Joe Biden decides not to run for reelection in 2024, Newsom is widely considered a strong contender for the Democratic nomination for president. The recent incursions that the governor of California has made into the political systems of states that are currently controlled by the Republican Party, most notably Texas and Florida, have fueled rumors and suspicion.
At the beginning of this month, Newsom issued a debate challenge to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), who is also considered to be a possible candidate for the presidential election in 2024. Newsom also requested that the Justice Department investigate DeSantis’s transportation of migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Additionally, the governor of California has launched a number of campaigns in red states. These include a series of billboards promoting California’s access to abortion in seven states that are led by Republicans, as well as several advertisements in Texas and Florida that criticize the Republican governors of those states.
Guilfoyle is now involved in the consequences of the violence that occurred in the Capitol on January 6, 2021. After she abruptly ended her voluntarily scheduled interview with the House Jan. 6 committee in March, the committee issued her a subpoena requiring her to testify before it. Guilfoyle reportedly gave a speech at the rally the day before the attack on the Capitol building and was present in the Oval Office earlier that day.
