Get Even Season 2: Will There Be Another Season?

Premiering on BBC iPlayer on February 14, 2020, Get Even is a British teen thriller program. Based on Gretchen McNeil’s Don’t Get Mad! book series, which Holly Phillips adapted for television, the show follows a group of high school women who have banded together to expose bullies on campus. Worldwide distribution of the show began in August 2020 after Netflix had purchased the distribution rights.

There was a spin-off series called Rebel Cheer Squad that debuted on BBC in February 2022. Kitty Wei, Bree Deringer, Margot Rivers, and Olivia Hayes form DGM (Don’t Get Mad) to out the school bullies. When one of their victims is found dead with a note reading “DGM” in his hand, the girls realize that someone is trying to blame them for the crime.

Get Even Season 1 Recap

The first episode of Get Even, titled “Get On It,” has some work to be done. It is your typical, necessary scene-setting chapter, aiming to introduce the key characters and set the stakes, and it achieves that capably – if formulaically – enough. The episode is aimed to introduce the primary characters and set the stage for the story.

We are welcomed to enroll in Bannerman Independent School, where bullies and the like are held to account by Don’t Get Mad, or DGM, a small quartet of mismatched female students whose handiwork is displayed early when an abusive coach is made to look foolish in an assembly. The opening of the show features some teaser flashes of a crime that will come to define the season.

DGM is made up of nerdy Margot, sporty Kitty, Bree – who is in danger of being expelled – and Olivia; they are allies even though they are not close friends, but their crusades are likely to draw them closer together in the future. In the meantime, a huge party is approaching, as this is an adolescent melodrama as well as a murder mystery, and huge parties are very much required in this kind of story.

At that party, some of the dynamics begin to take shape, most notably involving Olivia and her boyfriend Donte, as well as Kitty’s friend Mika, who is used as a pawn by Ronny, who then goes on to become DGM’s next target.

Logan’s confession about killing Ronny and Mika reveals the meaning of the black automobile. DGM exposed the children’s and staff’s misdeeds at Bannerman school, angering the authorities. Bannerman’s wealthy backers are unhappy with DGM’s plans. They aim to eliminate them. Before taking action, they must identify DGM.

The black automobile reappears after Logan alerts Margot. This confirms that the rich hidden society is the next opponent. They’ve also noticed Kitty and Margot. What’s next for DGM?
