The level of excitement among the fans for the game is obviously quite high: At this time, the trailer for God of War: Ragnarok has received the most views out of any and all of the other trailers that were shown during the most recent Sony PlayStation Showcase, which took place on September 9, 2021. That is quite remarkable when one considers that the majority of those trailers have hit counts that are well into the multi-millions.
There have been more than 12 million people watching God of War: Ragnarok so far. The story of this game will more or less pick up where the previous one left off, with Kratos and Atreus returning to the ancient Norse world in an effort to stop the titular Ragnarok from destroying the world. God of War Ragnarok Gameplay
The head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, has declared that God of War Ragnarok will be released on both the PS4 and the PS5. When switching to PS5, players who only own the PS4 version of the game will not receive a free upgrade.
“I also want to confirm today that going forward, PlayStation first-party exclusive cross-gen titles (newly released on PS4 & PS5) will offer a $10 USD digital upgrade option from PS4 to PS5,” Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said. The following God of War, Gran Turismo 7, and any other Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusive cross-gen PS4 & PS5 games will all be affected by this.

Story of God of War Ragnarok
Santa Monica Studio provided some information about God of War Ragnarok’s plot in a blog post on the official PlayStation website. The story picks up a few years after the events of God of War, putting Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir’s survival skills to the test.
Although the previous game greatly increased the trust and understanding between father and son, the developer notes that there is still a great deal of complexity in their interactions, particularly following the discovery of Atreus’ Giant heritage and the secret prophecy that only Kratos saw. The relationship between Kratos and Atreus will be more thoroughly explored in the sequel.
The story synopsis for God of War Ragnarok has been made public and is as follows: “Fimbulwinter is well underway. As Asgardian forces get ready for a battle that will supposedly end the world, Kratos and Atreus are forced to travel to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers.
They will pass through breathtaking mythical lands and come face to face with terrifying foes in the form of Norse gods and monsters. Ragnarök’s threat is getting more real every day. Between their own safety and the security of the realms, Kratos and Atreus are forced to make a decision.
God of War Ragnarok Release Date & Price
The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions of God of War: Ragnarok is scheduled to be released on November 9, with prices of $70 and $60, respectively. Players who either preorder the game or purchase it after it has been released will be rewarded with a cosmetic outfit for Atreus and in-game armor for Kratos.
Players who initially purchase God of War Ragnarok for the PlayStation 4 will have the option to pay an additional ten dollars to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version of the game.
