Hallmark Channel’s Senior Vice President of Programming & Development, Randy Pope, declared that Good Witch has made the watchers spellbound over the last 10 years with its 8 Movie collections and 7 seasons of TV series.
He showed his gratitude towards the leads whose bonding and potentially turned Good Witch into quite a singular and beloved TV series. “Catherine Bell, who carried the role of Cassie Nightingale for the last 13 years, and James Denton AKA Dr. Sam Radford who added a lot of spice and sarcasm to the series. We express our gratitude to them and also to all the actors and crews for their dedication and hard work.” He spoke.
There was no definite reason provided for the termination of the series. However, you should be aware that ratings and views have diminished exponentially in last season; the final round got about 1.54 million views.
This probably took a part in the cancellation of this show. Bailee Madison, who acts as Grace, daughter of Cassie, quit as a permanent actress after season 5 but appeared in last season. Considering that the young actress was one of the pillars in the first five installments of the series, many viewers were likely to lose interest after her quitting.
In a Facebook Live Session, Catherine Bell (Cassie) and James Denton (Dr. Sam Radford) share their thoughts on if the production team was actually ready to end the series like this. “We made two kinds of [endings],” revealed Bell. We weren’t aware that we were not returning, but there were two options.
I think they do that sometimes.” the end was worked out so that the whole network would be neatly folded if the series was not re-approved. We are glad they did that because it has been confirmed that ‘Good Witch Season 8’ has been officially canceled.
Good Witch Season 8 Expected Release Date
The Hallmark Channel Network had not canceled Good Witch Season 8, it would have been available to release by June 2023.
