GREENVILLE, N.C: Two men were shot inside Greenville Mall on Friday, and police were there to help. Police in Greenville said they got a call at about 6:30 p.m. that shots had been fired at the mall. Near American Eagle, police said they found two men hurt inside. We know there was a fight, and someone else shot the two people who died.
Both people were brought to the ECU Health Medical Center. It wasn’t clear how bad their injuries were. The suspect, who ran away from the crime scene, was being actively looked for. Police didn’t say if there were other people involved or if they were only looking for one person.
“It was not a random act,” said Greenville Police Department Major David Bowen. “This was a fight that took place in the mall. So, thankfully, no one else was hurt.
“And we’re working with like I said, mall management. I’m also thankful that the Greenville Police Department and the East Carolina University Police Department (ECU PD) came to help us get people out of the parking lot and clear businesses.
