Grey’s Anatomy Season 20: As a midseason replacement on ABC in 2005, Grey’s Anatomy quickly became one of the network’s most popular series. Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 Storyline

Beginning with her entrance into the surgical residency program at Seattle Grace Hospital (played by Ellen Pompeo), the series chronicles the life of Meredith Grey, daughter of a distinguished general surgeon (Kate Burton) (later named Seattle Grace Mercy West and finally, Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital). As an intern, Grey shares the challenges of juggling personal life with work and residency with doctors Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang), Katherine Heigl (Izzie Stevens), Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), and T. R. Knight (George O’Malley).

Ellis Grey’s ex-lover is Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr. ), the Chief of Surgery and an attending general surgeon. Burke, O’Malley, and Stevens all leave the show throughout its first six seasons.

The drama and emotions throughout the show center on Meredith and her experiences. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh), Shepherd’s ex-wife and the head of OB/GYN, neonatal, and fetal surgery, leaves Seattle for Los Angeles at the end of Season 3; Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) is the head of plastic surgery; Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) is a resident who eventually becomes the head of orthopedic surgery and leaves Seattle for New York at the end of Season 12; Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith).

In the 17th season, while tracking a child abduction, DeLuca is stabbed and eventually dies despite Hunt and Altman’s best efforts to save him. During the 17th season, not only does Avery leave for Boston to take over the family foundation, but so does Koracick. After Bailey resigns as chief of surgery at Grey-Sloan Memorial and Webber and Fox take sabbaticals, Hunt and Altman leave the nation, and Marsh returns to Minnesota in the 18th season, leaving Grey as chief of surgery.
