Guthrie Boat Accident: In the aftermath of an airboat accident on Guthrie’s Country Club Lake, authorities in the area have retrieved the dead of three individuals. The guys were testing out their new airboat. The boat’s owner had just purchased it the day before. After the lake at the country club went silent, the management realized something terrible had happened.
“Dead silence. For just a few brief moments, “To quote Davis: “It was unclear what was happening, but it was clear that something had.” Davis stated he and an employee had tried to take a small boat out to the middle of the lake to see what was going on. “While I called 911, he went and got a trolly engine and battery and we tried to hook it up to an aluminum boat and get him out there. At first, we had no way of knowing how many were present “said Davis.

However, the aluminum boat couldn’t handle the weather, so they had to wait for the ambulance. “The question now becomes, “What else can you do?” You can do nothing except watch as a boat struggles against the wind to reach them. It seemed to last forever, “Defining it, Davis said. Around 1:30 p.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol dispatched their diving team. By the time they got there, the boat was underwater.
“The number of passengers on a boat and its destination are also important factors in trying to piece together what happened to it. We need assets there to get out on the water, which is especially important if it’s out in the middle of the water “said Oklahoma State Trooper Eric Foster.
Unfortunately, the rescue developed into a search and rescue operation. Scuba divers from OHP utilized a sonar-like device to locate the bodies of the three missing guys. Their identities are still being kept secret. The airboat was pulled from the water by OHP divers. On Wednesday, it will provide the final piece of the puzzle in determining what happened at the lake. The cause of their demise is yet unknown.
“If something was hit, the boat will show us. If there was a problem with the boat itself, we’ll be able to see it on the water “I’ve got your back,” Foster, a trooper, added. One of the men was a country club acquaintance of Davis’, he added. “In fact, one of the gentlemen used to come out here frequently to fish. He loves to fish, thus you can probably find him here at least three or four times a week “To quote Davis:
On Wednesday, a vigil was organized in Mineral Wells Park to remember the three men and a fourth Guthrie resident who had recently passed away for reasons unrelated to the others.
