Season 2 of Halo Infinite is on the way. After a lengthy initial season, 343 Industries has now teased some of what gamers may expect to see in the second season, titled “Lone Wolves.” Only a teaser trailer has been released, but it contains more information than you might anticipate. Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming content update, including the Halo Infinite Season 2 start date, battle pass awards, new game modes, and more.
What Can We Expect From Halo Infinite Season 2?
For now, all we have to rely on is a small teaser trailer, but the team who put it together did well to hide multiple teases inside of its 27-second length. Most significant is at least one new map, and though it’s hard to be sure, potentially even two new maps. A Warthog barrels across a gap where down below a fiery hell pit awaits all slowpokes on what is likely a never-before-seen map. Season 2 will feature a slew of new battlegrounds for the Spartans, as evidenced by the fact that this reddish map is distinct from others we’ve seen in the trailer.
While we didn’t identify any new guns in this trailer, creative lead Joseph Staten underlined that it’s simply a teaser and we should expect more updates in the weeks ahead leading up to Season 2’s launch on May 3. Perhaps the most notable tease of them all is the dust storm that looks to be closing fast around players in one particular clip near the end of the film.
Rumors have circulated that a “battle royale-lite” mode is on the way, and this teaser appears to confirm that, with an ever-increasing circle encroaching on the map area of what is most likely a Big Team Battle map. Other aspects of this seemingly brand-new mode should be exposed in due time.

Halo Infinite Season 2 Maps
Halo Infinite Season 2 will feature two new maps, according to 343 Industries. The first is a Big-Team-Battle map called Breaker, which appears to be centered on an arid desert-themed location. The second map, Catalyst, is smaller than the first, which is understandable since it is an arena map. It takes place in and around a building that looks like an old, abandoned lab covered in moss.
Catalyst is set to enter “multiple playlists” on day one, so expect to see a lot of this new layout in Season 2. Both maps were revealed on April 15th, along with a new deep-dive trailer that flew through the new designs. This early look at Season 2’s new features, such as the locations of power weapons and grab lifts, is a great way to get a head start.
Halo Infinite Season 2 Battle Pass
343 isn’t ready to disclose all of the battle pass prizes just yet, but the first official artwork shows off several new gear items for Spartans. This includes bright new helmets, armor kits, and weapon skins, all of which are part of the “Lone Wolves” theme, which refers to the game’s free-for-all mode. For better or worse, the Halo community will analyze this Battle Pass closely. Many gamers found cosmetic prizes in Season 1 to be lacking, but the cover art heroes for Season 2 suggest a more stunning color palette is on the way.
As we learn of new battle pass prizes, we’ll make sure to share them with you in pieces so you can determine whether the optional premium battle pass is worth your time and money.
Halo Infinite Season 2 Release Date
Halo Infinite Season 2 debuts on Tuesday, May 3 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. That’ll come with a likely big update, a brand-new battle pass, and a store refresh that should offer brand-new cosmetic things for Spartans, their titles, cars, and more. As of now, there is no set end date for the new season. If the Halo team wants to make the seasons more like other games’ seasonal content roadmaps, one might expect a three-month season instead of the long Season 1 which will be over six months long when it ends.
