When it comes to American comic books, Harley Quinn is one of the most well-known characters. On September 11, 1992, Quinn made her debut in Batman: The Animated Series’ 22nd episode, “Joker’s Favor,” as the Joker’s comic relief henchwoman. Since her debut in a single episode of the DC Animated Universe, Quinn has been one of the Joker’s favorite sidekicks and love interests, a role she has continued in the DC Comics Batman canon beginning with Batman: Harley Quinn #1. According to the Joker’s origin narrative, Quinn was formerly Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum who fell in love with her patient and eventually became both his ally and lover.
It’s a play on the stock character Harlequin from the 16th-century theatrical commedia dell’arte, which inspired the character’s pseudonym. She was shown as a frequent accomplice and lover of the Joker, as well as Poison Ivy’s closest confidant upon her debut in the DC Universe in 1999. As her first ongoing book written by Karl Kesel appeared in 2000, later stories presented Quinn as a supervillain who had left behind her toxic and codependent relationship with the Joker.

Harley Quinn Season 3 Storyline
Season 3 of Eat, Bang, Kill Tour will take up where the comic series left off. Harley and Ivy can be seen escaping Commissioner Gordon’s hands at the end of the final issue and making their way into Central City (the hometown of Barry Allen aka The Flash). They (Schumacker and Halpern) have announced that Season 3 will delve more into Poison Ivy’s past while also expanding on her new romantic relationship with Harley Quinn, which has already been established in Season 2.
Ivy and Harley’s relationship could be affected by Harley’s past, according to Halpern in an interview with Deadline in 2020. As in the stand-alone Batman episode from Season 2, viewers can look forward to more of Christopher Meloni’s dysfunctional police commissioner Gordon and his efforts to restore the GCPD’s and his own reputations.

After being duped by Two-Face, Commissioner Jim Gordon is vengeful and determined to exact revenge on the Justice League. He sends a ragged group of cops to the Gotham corn plant to infiltrate Ivy and Kite Man’s wedding as service employees. In order to get the attention of the media, Gordon pretends to be the priest so that he can make a bust and take down the villains there.
He invites the media because he wants to be the center of attention, but Two-Face has a different plan: he asks Harley to help him escape Arkham. After learning that Gordon is behind the robbery, Harley resolves to flee with him in order to salvage the wedding of her best friend. In the wake of Dr. Psycho’s revelation that Ivy and Harley had sex at least twice, Kite Man is not happy to see her.
Even though the wedding is going on, Harley heads back in when she finds the crew is fraudulent. With all the crooks in attendance, pandemonium and fire erupt when Jen decks Harley and a waiter. When Harley reveals the cop’s uniform, they lose the element of surprise Gordon had and miss out on his big moment.
