The first season of Hazbin Hotel, an animated musical comedy on Prime Video, has concluded. The television series, which was created by Vivienne Medrano and is based on her popular YouTube pilot, follows Princess of Hell Charlie (Erika Henningsen) as she creates a rehabilitation clinic for sinners following Heaven’s yearly purge, in which angels kill devils.
Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg wrote the original music and lyrics for the program, which made its debut on January 19, 2024. This week, the songwriting team debuted on the Billboard charts with “Poison,” which was performed by Angel Dust actor Blake Roman and featured in Episode 4.
Season 1’s last two episodes wrapped up a few loose ends and set the stage for an exciting second season when they premiered early on February 1, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
“Hello, Rosie!”, the seventh episode, takes place soon after the events of the sixth, in which Adam (Alex Brightman) and Lute (Jessica Vosk) informed Charlie that they would be attacking her hotel in the upcoming Extermination.
Additionally, the princess learned that Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz), her girlfriend, was formerly an exterminator until the angels betrayed her for saving a life during an attack.
In the penultimate episode, Vaggie seeks advice from Carmilla (Daphne Rubin-Vega) on how to kill angels, while Charlie and Alastor (Amir Talal) travel to Cannibal Town to enlist assistance in their battle against the angels.
Both journeys proved fruitful; Charlie was able to assemble a formidable group of combatants, and Vaggie discovered that angels could be vanquished using only their weapons—angels forged of angelic steel.
And now for the grand finale! Ever wonder who survives and who doesn’t? Prepare your tissues! Everything you need to know about the newest series’ Episode 8 is provided here.
Hazbin Hotel Ending Explained
“The Show Must Go On,” the eighth and last episode of Hazbin Hotel Season 1, begins with the staff of the hotel getting ready for combat and the arrival of Angel’s friend Cherri Bomb (Krystina Alabado) to lend a hand. Watching and commentating are the rulers Vox (Christian Borle), Valentino (Joel Perez), and Velvette (Lilli Cooper).
Charlie gives a moving address to her friends and supporters as the day draws to a close. She says, “I want you all to know that getting to know you has been the biggest honor of my life.” I’m sure you’ve all tried, whatever redemption entails. You are all decent people, I have witnessed that. I live tonight as you please, since I love you all so much!
The devils, as Charlie has long maintained, actually desire to be good. Instead of going out and causing mayhem, the hotel staff meets for a drink and a farewell celebration in the lobby.
Husk (Keith David) and Angel exchange seductive glances while Sir Pentious (Brightman) tries again to win Cherri over. In the meantime, Charlie and Vaggie have a private moment and reprise “More Than Anything,” which was first done by Charlie and her father in Episode 5.
After that, the action begins. A massive shield is present when Adam and the Exterminators arrive in Hell to kill the demons. A short while later, Adam breaches the shield, and Alastor advances to engage him in combat. Adam crushes the radio demon’s staff because it is too feeble. Alastor replies, “Radio is not dead, but it’s ending this broadcast,” before vanishing from sight.
The first casualty is revealed as the crew battles the Exterminators back at the motel. Yes, one of the Egg Bois has passed away. Angel intervenes to stop another person from experiencing the same tragedy. After Adam arrives at the hotel, Sir Pentious takes over. He uses a death ray on Adam and gives Cherri an unexpected kiss. Adam quickly dispatches him.
The hotel guests lament their friend’s passing as they watch in horror. Charlie now attacks Adam since he’s gone completely insane. Vaggie and Lute start their struggle as they fight. Veggie prevails, but instead of killing Lute, she imprisons her beneath a rock pile caused by the hotel’s devastation.
Lucifer (Jeremy Jordan) unexpectedly shows up to save his daughter. “I’m going to fuck you because you messed with my daughter,” he says to Adam. There is stillness in response to the threat, and then Charlie says, “It’s fuck you up, dad.”
The fallen angel mocks Lucifer during their altercation, saying, “Your first wife didn’t seem to hate what I had to offer… or your second!” Charlie jumps in and stops Lucifer from beating Adam into submission before things get worse.
Charlie tries to save Adam, but Nifty (Kimiko Glenn) shows there and stabs him several times, killing him. Charlie and the hotel staff prevail in the fight, and Extermination Day is now finished, as Lute cancels the other Exterminators and the angels withdraw.
The princess is consoled by Lucifer and Charlie’s pals as she surveys the wreckage of her hotel and is urged to “fulfill her destiny.” As the Vees plot to take over Hell’s recent glory, they work together to repair the hotel. Is this hinting at a more constrained plot for Season 2?
In an evil-coded moment, the montage turns to Alastor, who sings of being “hungry for freedom” and desiring to rule over Hell. When the radio demon gets back to the hotel, he smiles broadly.
When you think the story is finished, Sir Pentious appears out of nowhere in Heaven, suggesting that atonement is still possible and that he has been rewarded for his supreme sacrifice.
Adorable In the very last scene of the show, Lute approaches Charlie’s mother Lilith, and tells her to stop her daughter if she wants to stay in Heaven. Lilith may have wanted Adam dead, as Lute suggests when she presents her with his blood-stained halo
