There has been a return of the Halloween Queen. Heidi Klum threw her annual Halloween bash in New York City again after skipping the past two years. The 49-year-old model made her comeback on Monday night, dressed as a worm from head to toe.
This lifelike sculpture included ridges and a curled head and tail to round off the look. Tom Kaulitz, dressed as a fisherman with a bloody eye, was with her. Only Klum’s eyes and mouth were exposed, and her brown sneakers were partially visible through the fabric.

Good Morning America posted an Instagram video of Klum swaying and writhing on the blue carpet before getting on the floor for a worm dance. Ahead of Halloween, she and her Making the Cut co-star Tim Gunn went live on Amazon to give customers a preview of her pre-party preparations. While her staff applied her makeup, Klum was careful to conceal her identity by hiding under a cover with a Halloween pattern.
She told the audience that her Halloween preparations began at 11 a.m. and that she would be answering questions about the holiday throughout the show. Following a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Klum announced to fans as her makeup took shape how thrilled she was to attend this year’s party. She also admitted that the first thing she does at her Halloween parties is to meet everyone and try to identify the people hiding behind the costumes.
Klum has shown her commitment to going all out for Halloween by previewing her costume for months. She first started talking online about getting dressed for the party in October back in June.
Klum posted black-and-white footage to Instagram in which she sat still in a chair while a man appeared to conduct a body scan. At the very end of the clip, she threw in a few ballet-inspired moves. The TV host took off her bathrobe to expose her bra and a cap that covered her hair. Klum matched the clip to the Nightmare Before Christmas classic “This Is Halloween” to set the appropriate mood.
Later, Klum hinted to PEOPLE that there might be a lot of prosthetics involved in this year’s costume. She told PEOPLE on the red carpet at September’s The Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards that even her own appearance scared her. The night will be the first time I’ve ever felt so claustrophobic,” Klum said. I am really anxious in confined spaces.
“Especially if I have too much stuck on me and can’t take it off… So I’ll have to really breeze through it,” she continued. The model and TV personality recognize that the prosthetics will be difficult for her to wear, but she is, as always, fully devoted to her image. She explained to PEOPLE that “when you have it on, you can’t be like, ‘Oh, it’s a wig and take it off. Nothing can be removed because it is cemented in place.
