Northeast Ohio is the final stop on an East Coast crime wave. Five individuals were detained, according to the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, and they were all charged with receiving stolen property, a first-degree crime. The Highland Heights UPS facility and the Austinburg UPS were both broken into two weeks ago. The Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department reported that people were seen on security footage stealing Apple devices from the Austinburg UPS business.
Willoughby Hills Police executed a search warrant on the suspect’s vehicle and discovered a knife, two new iPhones, a new Mac Book Pro, an I-Watch that was worn by one of the suspects, as well as marijuana, winter face masks, a stolen AR-15 lower receiver, the shipping label to someone in Orwell, Ohio, and Ozark headlamps. The checks were stolen from a business in Virginia.
Dhaki Henson, 18, of Folcroft, PA; Kahlil Greenwood, 18, of Sharon Hill, PA; Daniel Raphael Gordon, 20, of Sharon Hill, PA; and Marcel Gray Da Mordecai, 19, of Philadelphia, PA, are the four adult suspects. The juvenile suspect is being detained at the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center, while the four adults have been booked into the Lake County Jail.
The youngest suspect was apprehended because he was already sporting an ankle bracelet that he had wrapped in aluminium foil, ostensibly in an effort to avoid detection. If the group is accused of break-ins in other states, more charges could be brought against them.
