Here we are talking about I-80 Accident. While responding to another crash, 29-year-old EMT Tyeler Harris was killed in a collision on I 80/US 30/WY 789 in Sweetwater County.
According to a preliminary assessment from the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), the tragic collision happened around 4:15 AM on December 21. “Driver Inattentiveness” is being looked into as a possible contributing cause.
According to the complaint, Memorial Hospital of Carbon County Ambulance MS64 was on the scene treating victims of a previous collision on Interstate 80 when two of the EMT workers were hit by a tractor-trailer combination vehicle.
One EMT was taken to Cheyenne Medical Center for additional testing after suffering significant injuries to her head, neck, and wrist.
Harris, the second EMT, was fatally injured when the tractor-trailer struck him.
Saviol Saint Gean, of Brooklyn, New York, was the driver of the tractor-trailer that struck the scene of the initial incident.
An eventual flag-half-staff observance for the entire state will be chosen at a later time in response to the death of Harris, a reportedly Riverton High School graduate.
In the statement, Governor Gordon said, “These tragedies serve as a reminder of the hazards that come along with the selfless devotion of first responders in our state, who are all genuinely committed to serving their fellow people.”
In addition, Harris’ extended family in Riverton has created a GoFundMe page “to aid with the cost of the funeral and to help his wife and their three kids, in this difficult time.”
