Who is John Ducey?
I Believe in Santa is a film that John Ducey not only created but also starred in, playing the role of Tom. That’s right; Tom created the concept for his song “I Believe in Santa” all on his own. The sheer quantity of seasonal films that Ducey is responsible for producing in the 2022 holiday season alone is even more startling. John Ducey is responsible for writing two of the first holiday films produced by HBO Max, including A Hollywood Christmas and A Christmas Mystery. Alex Ranarivelo, the director, was in charge of all three films.
There are other connections beyond this point. Christina Moore, the actor who plays Lisa in I Believe in Santa, is Ducey’s wife. Moore is also an actress. Moore is also the producer of A Hollywood Christmas and frequently works with her husband, the director Ranarivelo. In addition, Missi Pyle, who portrays a singer in the film I Believe in Santa, plays a more significant part in A Hollywood Christmas. Pyle has also made appearances in several other films helmed by Ducey, such as the motion picture Pray for Rain (2017), helmed by Ranarivelo, and co-written by Moore.
Where Else Have You Seen John Ducey?

If you have watched any television in the past three decades, there is a good chance that you have seen Ducey in one of his many roles. His roles in Bad Judge, Jonas (where he also played a person named Tom), Will & Grace (where he portrayed Jack’s employer Jamie), and Sabrina the Teenage Witch were either recurrent or regular (where he played Leonard).
In addition to that, he has appeared in episodes of American Housewife, Feud (where he played Jack Paar), Castle, iCarly, Bones, Rules of Engagement, Damages, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Malcolm in the Middle, Ally McBeal, Wings, and Party of Five — the list of his guest appearances on television goes back a long way.
When he’s not appearing as a guest on other people’s shows, he’s working on the production of his films with the assistance of his wife, a group of co-workers, and Ali Afshar’s ESX Entertainment. I Believe in Santa was one of those projects that were undertaken. The holiday season will never be the same again after this.
I Believe in Santa Ending Explained
Lisa has strong opinions as a writer. She is the type of person that dislikes Christmas. She thinks Christmas is a bunch of nonsense. Despite popular belief, she says July 4th is the best holiday. She’s a single mom who tells her daughter Ella that Santa exists. Although he spends his days as an attorney, Christmas is Tom’s favorite holiday. Tom is convinced that Christmas is one of the most excellent holidays ever after reading an essay by Lisa (albeit he has no idea that she is the author).
Lisa takes Ella to a dance competition at a fair on the evening before July 4th. Ella becomes disoriented during the fair. Tom meets Ella and is introduced to Lisa in this establishment. Here on out, Tom and Lisa’s budding romance gets going. While this is going on, Sharon, a mutual friend of Lisa’s and Tom’s, and Assan, a mutual friend of Tom’s, become close companions.
For the most part, things go well for Tom and Lisa. Lisa is against the holiday. She does not share the typical holiday spirit and views Christmas as a pointless celebration. On the twenty-fifth day leading up to Christmas, Lisa and Sharon had supper at Tom and Assan’s apartment. Lisa is shocked that Tom’s flat is lavishly decked out for the holiday season. Tom’s genuine enthusiasm for the holiday of Christmas comes as a complete surprise to her.
He enthusiastically celebrates and appreciates it. Sharon convinces Lisa to give Tom another chance and get caught up in the holiday spirit during a touching talk on the trip home. Lisa agrees to it. Time passes as Lisa celebrates Christmas with Tom and their relationship by taking part in a variety of events throughout the next few days. It all goes south, though, when Lisa learns about Tom’s unwavering faith in Santa Claus. A breakup is called for by Lisa after she and her boyfriend argue over their divergent views on the contentious issue.
Tom’s Christmas cheer fades as he watches Lisa labor over a piece about the holiday. When Lisa talks to Assan, she can understand Tom’s convictions better. Assan responds by educating Lisa that, in some cases, it’s simpler to accept the situation as it is simply. Tom decides to assist Ella to prepare for a sleigh race by volunteering to construct a sleigh for her.
Tom and Lisa finally catch up on the day of the sleigh race. They join in on the competitive fun alongside Ella and take first place. Participants in the party include Lisa, Tom, Assan, Sharon, and Ella, all of whom congregate in Lisa’s house. To make amends, Lisa goes to Tom here. And Tom’s response is a ring and a proposal to get married. At this point, Ella discloses that her Christmas wish—for Tom and Lisa to tie the knot—has finally come true.
