After initially declaring that it could not confirm that the bones belonged to Athena Brownfield and that they had been given to the examiner’s office for definitive identification, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation made the revelation on Thursday in a brief statement.

The bureau said:

“Due to a gag order filed in Caddo County District, there is no additional comment on the investigation from the OSBI.”
