The head of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Christopher Olivarez, told Fox News Digital that three people were killed and three others were injured when a car collided near the border on Sunday during a human smuggling operation. Around 12:30, the driver lost control of the vehicle and careened off the road to avoid hitting an animal.

A photo from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows the grey Acura twisted and flipped upside down after it had rolled many times before coming to rest. Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the two others and the driver were confirmed dead at the spot. The wreckage was found in Kinney County, Texas, about south of Brackettville. The names of the deceased will be disclosed after officials have notified their families.

A record number of almost two million migrants had been found at the southern border this fiscal year. This year’s tally also includes an estimated 599,000 “got away,” or migrants who avoided capture. A record 782 people have died trying to cross the border so far this fiscal year because human smugglers placed them in dangerous situations on a regular basis.

According to Fox News, the Webb County Medical Examiner‘s Office has been unable to handle the latest influx of migrant deaths. Three vehicles collided on Wednesday in downtown Uvalde, some 60 miles from the Mexican border, killing two people.

There was a teen girl “engaged in human smuggling as she was smuggling nine illegal immigrants from Mexico,” according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. It was in June of this year when 53 migrants perished in the hot cargo area of a tractor-trailer about 110 miles east of Brackettville, in San Antonio.
