All aspiring decorators, please read! In search of the next great interior designer, Alan Carr hosts BBC One’s Interior Design Masters. Maybe you’re the one.
The hit BBC show Interior Design Masters, hosted by comedian and presenter Alan Carr, gives aspiring interior designers a platform to demonstrate their talents in the hopes of landing a contract that might launch their professional careers. Ten competitors take on a variety of interior design tasks throughout eight episodes.
The designers are given a new commercial design brief weekly and must solve various interior problems, from model homes and restaurants to stores and vacation rentals. The winner of each challenge gains valuable feedback from a panel of judges and special guests who help propel them toward their goal.
Interior design luminaries Abigail Ahern, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and Sophie Robinson have all appeared in previous seasons of the show. Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr may be an excellent chance for you if you are either just starting in your profession or are searching for a means to make your mark in the business.

Alan Carr Will Host The 2024 Edition Of Interior Design Masters
In season two of Interior Design Masters, comedian and TV host Alan Carr took over hosting duties. Fearne Cotton formerly hosted the show. Although Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown are more well-known, Alan has made guest appearances on both of these programs in the past.
One of the best parts of the show is Alan’s genuine connection with the competitors. Yet, he acknowledges that parting can be tricky: It’s incredibly challenging by the conclusion of the series when you’ve spent days upon days near the characters and can’t help but become invested in them and their drama.
The Covid rules have been relaxed this season, so at least I can give them a friendly slap on the back or a hug before sending them home. I felt terrible waving from a distance of six feet last season.
How has Alan’s outlook on home design evolved after filming two series? I feel like I’m starting to understand now. Learning the language is essential for success on any level. Is there a backstory to my home? Is there movement? Should I add a splash of color to my living room? He says you’ll be halfway there once you grasp this.
To me, interior design is akin to the occult since it involves sending hidden signals and drawing attention to specific parts of a space. The pub, cafe, or shop you frequent most likely uses ingenious design techniques to entice you to frequent their establishment—just a bunch of empty promises. I’ve made it seem like Michelle Ogundehin is a secret society member.
