Here we are talking about Jackson Reed Shooting; following reports of gunshots heard nearby on Friday afternoon, a high school in Northwest Washington, D.C., temporarily went on lockdown, according to authorities.

At about 2:45 p.m., someone alerted a school resource officer about gunfire at Jackson-Reed High School, formerly Woodrow Wilson High School, according to D.C. police.

Cmdr. Duncan Bedlion of the Metropolitan Police Department told reporters, “We rapidly established that there was at least one person who fired a gun.

According to a D.C. Public Schools representative, the high school was placed on lockdown, and a nearby elementary and middle school was placed on a less severe “alert” status.

Around 4 p.m., authorities lifted the lockdown, and kids could be seen leaving the building.

Bedlion claimed that although the shooting caused minor property damage, no injuries have been reported to the police.
