Lemonier had a single season with the Lions in 2021. Linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard highlighted Lemonier’s development and improvement at the time. In 2020, the Los Angeles Chargers signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent after he played college football at Liberty. He played in six games, recording two tackles.
In addition to trying out for the Arizona Cardinals over the summer of 2022, he also had possibilities with the XFL and USFL that year. He opted to play in the USFL instead. His original contract was with the Houston Gamblers, but he was traded to the Birmingham Stallions in March.

The Detroit Lions issued a tweet expressing their sadness on Jessie Lemonier’s passing.
