Jori Jones, an NCAA hockey player, died in a car accident in Minnesota on August 20, 2023. Jones and three of her teammates, Gianna Gasparini, Kayla Bluhm, and Lily Mortenson, were all hurt in the crash, along with Jones.

StarTribune said that the accident happened at a rural crossroads in the middle of Minnesota. Gasparini was driving the car that Jori and her friends were in when it hit a minivan on the highway.
State Patrol said that Gasparini was unable to use the brakes as he drove up to the crossing, which caused the car to crash. Soon after the crash, emergency workers came, and all four people were taken to the Montevideo Hospital.

Our deepest condolences go out to Jones’ family and the Roseville & Gustavus hockey communities. We also ask everyone to keep those who were injured in their thoughts.”

Brandi Rasmussen was driving the minivan. She said that when the car hit her, she was thrown into the air. The New York Post said that Brandi didn’t see the car coming and that she got a headache and some cuts and bruises.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share that one of our amazing staff, Jori Jones, passed away in a tragic car accident this weekend.
Jori was such a bright light on our staff and had the most infectious, beautiful smile. She was so kind, genuine, and playful. Her family let us know that it was her dream job to be a camp counselor, and we are so grateful to have had her on staff for two summers at HPR. To know Jori was to love her.
Our camp family is devastated, and our deepest sympathies go to the Jones family and all those that loved her. Please feel free to to share any sentiments and memories in the comments below 💕”
