Judy Fitzgerald was a well-known fitness instructor, model, and nurse. In 2014, she triumphed in the highly competitive Miss Bikini Ireland model search.
After Judy’s victory at the global championships in Cancun, Mexico, she enthusiastically promoted Ireland. Judy was also a successful model, but she also did important work as a frontline nurse and midwife.
The University of Limerick awarded her an M.S. in Midwifery after she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University College Cork. Judy continued her frontline midwifery work and her passion in the fitness modelling industry despite the difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fashion designer Venera Tabakin shared a series of images of her with Fitzgerald and said, “RIP Judy Fitzgerald, my little model and friend, Miss Bikini Ireland and Celebrity of Ireland,” while the actress Jenny Dixon and her husband Tom Neville tweeted, “incredibly sad to learn of Judy’s loss. All of us will miss her dearly. Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your loved one.
One friend wrote “Rest in peace Judy,” and another wrote “A beautiful soul, may she Rest In Peace” in an online tribute thread. The child whose grin “would light up a room” was “kind, beautiful,” according to one of her friends.
