A devastating homage to her deceased boyfriend was posted online by the girlfriend of a New Zealand TV cameraman who was discovered dead in the UK. When Joseph Day disappeared over the weekend, he was a resident in the Clifton neighborhood of Bristol, England, with his longtime partner Kelsey Mulcahy.
The 31-year-old, who had previously worked as a camera operator for the TVNZ network in New Zealand, has not returned calls or texts as of that point.
“Empathetic, creative, funny, generous, humble, kind, clever, protective, gentle. The most handsome guy in every room by a mile,” Ms Mulcahy said. “The most beautiful heart and goofy laugh and smile. Committed to becoming a better version of yourself every single day.”
In a collection of pictures of her deceased partner, Ms. Mulcahy wrote, “I would take a lifetime of this agony for one more day with you.”
“No one could understand how we feel about each other. No one understands that behind closed doors you are only even more wonderful,” she continued. “Changed my life forever; no one could ever compare. You made me love myself again. Would take a lifetime of this agony for just one more day with you. I love you I love you I love you.”
“I’ll never stop,” she wrote. “You’re in my heart forever. Wait for me.”
According to Ms. Mulcahy, when she asked her lover to lower the blackout curtains in the house they had been living in together since moving to the UK in January, she got one last response that made her fear the worst.
We were discussing how we were going to travel to London in three weeks when he said, “will do,” and then he stopped speaking, Ms. Mulcahy told Nine Newspapers.
Ms. Mulcahy reported Mr. Day’s disappearance to the police and made a devastating Facebook appeal for assistance, which received thousands of shares.
We adore one another; if we did have issues, I would be very honest about it. Ms. Mulcahy reported Mr. Day’s disappearance to the police and made a devastating Facebook appeal for assistance, which received thousands of shares.
“If you have any information at all, if you’ve seen him anywhere, please reach out and let me or the Avon and Somerset police know,” she wrote.
“This is extremely out of character for him, we always keep in touch every minute of the day. Everyone who knows Joe loves him very much, he is incredibly special to me, and his family and friends. Please help and share so we can find him.”

Police reportedly didn’t issue a formal appeal until Monday, 24 hours after Ms. Mulcahy reported her fiancé missing. The worst was later verified by Avon and Somerset Police on Wednesday morning, Australian time.
“In the early hours of this morning … Police located and recovered the body of a man in Avon Gorge, Bristol,” the statement reads.
“We have informed the family of missing 31-year-old Joseph Day, despite the fact that formal identification has not yet been made.
“Our thoughts are with them, and we appreciate their patience as we continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
“We’d ask the public to avoid speculation and respect the privacy of Joseph’s family at this time.”
Both Ms. Mulcahy’s friends from London and the couple’s anxious parents from New Zealand came to the UK to help in the search for Mr. Day. At the end of the year, the couple intended to get hitched when they returned to New Zealand.
