NBC has picked up La Brea for a third season of its disaster drama. The news comes before the show’s midseason return on Tuesday night, which is the middle of Season 2.  In La Brea, a huge sinkhole opens up in Los Angeles, pulling people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous primitive land where they have to work together to survive.

Natalie Zea, Eoin Macken, Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chiké Okonkwo, Zyra Gorecki, Jack Martin, Veronica St. Clair, Rohan Mirchandaney, Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie, Tonantzin Carmelo, and Michelle Vergara Moore are all in the show.

La Brea was written by David Appelbaum, and Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Chris Hollier, Adam Davidson, Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, Ken Woodruff, and Arika Lisanne Mittman are among the executive producers.

NBC has made a lot of money off of the show. When Season 1 started in September 2021, it was the most popular new show in the 18–49 age group, which advertisers like. It was also the best drama of the whole TV season of 2021–2022. On September 27, about 4 million Live+Same-Day viewers watched the first episode of Season 2. It got a 0.49 demo rating. So far, the average number of people who have watched the second part is 0.39 and 3.6M.

The epic adventure continues. #LaBrea will return for Season 3 on NBC.https://t.co/AlyW4fvx6i
