La Brea Season 3 Release Date: The inaugural episode of La Brea, an American science fiction drama series, aired on NBC on September 28, 2021. David Appelbaum conceived and serves as executive producer for the Keshet Studios and Universal Television series. Critics had conflicting reactions to the show. The show was renewed for a second season in November 2021, and the second season began on September 27, 2022.
Near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and the La Brea Tar Pits, a huge sinkhole appears in the early 2100s. There are hundreds of people, dozens of cars, and dozens of structures (including the unique Petersen Automotive Museum) that all get sucked into it. The survivors are stranded in a hostile and unknown wilderness and must work together to stay alive.
As the events unfold, the show follows one family (father, mother, son, and daughter) as they try to get back together after being split up. The father is able to see his son and wife in visions, and he also gets glimpses of when they are. The United States Department of Homeland Security has taken notice of the sinkhole and the unexpected presence of Teratornis in the Mojave Desert. A temporary portal to the same site in 10,000 B.C. is discovered by the investigators as the series develops, thanks to the sinkholes. The remaining people are frantically trying to reopen the portal before it closes for good.
La Brea Season 3 Storyline
As the sixth episode of NBC’s La Brea season two begins, the brave waggon hijackers are standing directly outside the massive structure. Pretending to be Exiles, they pull up to the guard post with a cart full of pebbles while Levi, Scott, and Lucas watch from the cover. Gavin (Eoin Macken) tries to charm his way out of a sticky situation when a security guard doesn’t recognise him and wonders where the regular guy is. Lucky for us, he excels at that more than he does in planning.
Our heroes had no idea that they are being watched from within the structure. The presence of Silas (Mark Lee) also raises eyebrows among the building’s occupants. Anyone on the waggon is subject to arrest per orders. Scott’s squad attacks while Silas shoots a few with arrows. As the melee ends, only Gavin remains in captivity. Scott and Lucas are left behind when the rest of the group disperses.
While in pain, Lucas (Rohan Mirchandaney) shows Scott (Rohan Mirchandaney) fresh burn marks that match those on Eddie (who has just lately passed away). Though Josh McKenzie’s Lucas is eager to go, Scott won’t allow him to leave the area without help. While Scott is playing the hero, Lucas is deep in his own redemption path.
Sam, Eve, Levi, and Izzy form a large group and go out to get Silas, who they believe is their best bet for entering the structure. Well, the joke’s on them… At bow point, Silas is following them and demanding they leave him alone. He lets slip that he tried to prevent Gavin from entering the building the first time around and that Gavin had been there previously. If they let Silas try to save Gavin on his own, he will have a better chance of success, he says. Silas is correct. Eve (Natalie Zea) manages to convince him to bring them along very simply.
Silas foretells bad things regarding the building’s manager. Talk about the devil, he’s got Gavin bound and interrogating him right now. As a gesture of good faith, he releases his bonds and identifies himself as James, the director of the Lazarus project. Plus, he happens to be Gavin’s dad! James claims he has been waiting for this day for years and hasn’t seen Gavin since he was a baby. James, a 2076 Angeleno, claims he’s doing all this for Gavin. James adds, “I wanted to make the world a better place so that your future would be brighter.”
James says that he arrived at 10,000 BC because natural resources in the future will eventually run out. Inside this enormous structure are a flourishing animal research centre and a sizable agricultural section. What they discover is sent to the year 2076 to help stop the extinction of plant and animal species.
The structure was built by a group including Aldridge, Silas, and Gavin’s mother. James wants to help Gavin reunite with his family and has “great regrets” for the deaths of everyone involved, especially Gavin. While Gavin eagerly anticipates entering 1988, dozens of scientists are hard at work to close to the portal. James says that he has leapt to the erroneous conclusion and that the gateway actually leads to the year 2076.
