Taylor Swift just received some beautiful remarks from Lady Gaga. The former pop star’s “Bloody Mary” vocalist left a nice comment on a TikTok fan’s post of a clip from her Netflix documentary, Miss Americana, complimenting Swift for her bravery in discussing the difficult subject of disordered eating.
One of the sad scenes from the 2020 documentary was featured in the TikTok Gaga commented on. In it, Swift recalls how she formerly under-ate and over-exercised to maintain what she terms an unhealthy body weight.
The woman in the video declares, “I’m a lot happier with who I am. “I don’t mind as much if someone mentions that I’ve put on weight… Being a size six rather than a size double zero is just something that improves my quality of life.
The “All Too Well” singer continued, “I didn’t grasp that at the time. That wasn’t how my body was intended to be. “I did work out frequently, but I wasn’t eating. There is always some ideal of beauty that you fall short of. Everything is f-king impossible.

It irritates me. Swift is heard saying in the voiceover that “it’s not good for me to see images of myself every day” after being photographed confronting a phalanx of cameras as she leaves her front door.
Swift acknowledges that there have been instances in the past when she’s seen “a picture of me where I feel like I looked like my tummy was too big, or… someone commented that I looked pregnant… ” even though she claims “it’s only occurred a few times, and I’m not in any way proud of it.” and that will only cause me to stop eating and starve temporarily.
In her interview with Variety for this week’s cover story, Swift went into more detail about her experiences with it, stating that it was challenging for her to come out about it for the documentary. She elaborates on the defining impact of one early tabloid torpedo on her in the solitude of a hotel suite.
When she was 18 years old, she appeared on a magazine cover for the first time, she recalls. And the title said, “Pregnant at 18? And it was due to something I was wearing that made my lower stomach look round rather than flat. So I recorded that as a penalty.
Then, while I was in the dressing room during a photo shoot, a magazine employee would exclaim, “Oh, yeah, this is so incredible that you can fit into the sample sizes.

Typically, we have to adjust the gowns before we can wear them on you, but we can do that today! I interpreted that as a pat on the back. When you notice that enough times, you adjust everything to reward and punishment, including your own body.
I don’t expect someone with a pop career to master it within the first ten years, she continues. And I’m aware that many horrible things have happened recently, my family is going through a lot of difficult things, and there is a lot of opposition and feeling under pressure or suppression.
However, I am genuinely very content. Because I choose carefully what I care about now, for the most part. And I believe that has made a significant difference.
