On Wednesday, a court in Lake County handed a guy from Painesville a sentence of life in prison for the murder of another person who had been shot while sitting in his vehicle the previous year.
According to the Painesville Police Chief Dan Waterman, Julian Lawrence, who is currently 26 years old, will not be eligible for parole until he has served the full 44 years of his sentence. Earlier this month, a jury deliberated on the case and decided that Lawrence was guilty of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, two charges of kidnapping, and marijuana trafficking.

Ollie Timall Gipson Jr., 22, was found by officers on November 4, 2021, with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the area of 55 Grant St., which is located west of downtown between West Jackson Street and Mentor Avenue. According to the police, the location is approximately halfway between the two streets (Ohio 20).
Gipson Jr. passed away at the scene of the accident. According to the police, they were able to immediately locate Lawrence in the general vicinity of the incident and take him to prison. He was found in possession of a weapon.
