Lake County Suffers a 3.5 Magnitude Quake on Saturday

A preliminary 3.5 magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:18 a.m. on Saturday 19 miles north of the Geysers in northern California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

In Sonoma County, the earthquake was centered about 19 miles north of Windsor and was approximately two miles deep.

There have been no reports of injuries.

In 2019, the United States Geological Survey, which monitors seismic activity in the US, evaluated and reported a magnitude 3.4 earthquake near Montpelier, Bear Lake County, Idaho, USA.

At 8:38 p.m. local time on October 20th, 2021, the earthquake occurred 3 miles beneath the epicenter at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles.

Small towns or cities near the epicenter felt only very weak shaking during the quake.
