Lewisville 121 Accident: After reportedly colliding with another car while racing on the Sam Rayburn Tollway on Wednesday night, a guy from Lewisville was detained. According to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release, a Ford Mustang rear-ended a Hyundai Elantra that was not competing in the race just after 9:30 p.m. when it was racing a Chevrolet Corvette in the southbound lanes of SRT near Standridge Drive in Lewisville. The hit prompted the Mustang to drift into the Corvette’s lane and collide with it, forcing the Corvette to swerve into the median and roll over.

The 43-year-old male driver of the Corvette and the 30-year-old male passenger were transferred to local hospitals with stable and serious injuries, respectively. The 32-year-old Elantra’s driver received medical attention and was allowed to leave the scene.

Jordan Brown, 27, the driver of the Mustang, fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended by law police. It was later discovered that Brown was inebriated at the time of the collision. Brown was accused of assault while intoxicated, racing on the highway while causing serious bodily injury, and an accident causing serious bodily injury on two separate counts. The inquiry is still ongoing.
