Chicago’s OLD TOWN – A renowned rooftop bar and event venue at the Hotel Lincoln was the scene of a shooting that killed a 35-year-old man this morning.

With views of Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan, the rooftop bar and event space known as The J. Parker is frequently regarded as one of the best rooftop locations in the city.

The incident took place around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday inside The J. Parker, the rooftop bar and event area above the Hotel Lincoln in the Old Town section of the city’s near north side on the 1800 block of N. Clark Street.

At the aforementioned location, two men allegedly got into a disagreement that turned violent. One of the men allegedly grabbed a gun and shot the other. The 35-year-old victim was taken by the Chicago Fire Department to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his status was initially rated as critical due to a gunshot wound to the chest.
