Lisa Loring, most known for giving life to Wednesday Addams in the mid-1960s television series The Addams Family, has passed away. She was 64. In a Facebook post, Loring’s close friend Laure Jacobson announced her passing on January 28 after the actor had been taken off life support due to “a huge stroke.”
“I must inform you with deep sorrow about the passing of our friend Lisa Loring. She had a severe stroke four days ago due to smoking and high blood pressure. For three days, she had been on life support. According to Jacobson’s post on social media, she passed away last night after her family decided to remove it yesterday.

She continued, “She is ingrained as Wednesday Addams in our hearts and the tapestry of popular culture. Lisa has left a lasting impression on the entertainment industry. She is beautiful, sweet, and a devoted mother. A richness of humor, love, and affection will live on in our minds as her family and friends’ legacy. Adieu, Lisa. Wow, girl… You were great fun.
Following Jenna Ortega’s (Instagram Account) portrayal of the enduring character in the Netflix series, interest in Loring’s version of Wednesday Addams has recently increased. In the first live-action version of Charles Addams’ New Yorker drawings, Loring played the original Wednesday. Sixty-four episodes were produced during the show’s two seasons from 1964 to 1966.
After leaving The Addams Family, Lisa Ann DeCinces Loring—who was born on February 16, 1958, in Kwajelein, Marshall Islands—appeared on several shows, including The Phyllis Diller Show, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Fantasy Island, Barnaby Jones, and As the World Turns, where she played Cricket Montgomery regularly. In 1977’s television movie Halloween starring the New Addams Family, Loring later played Wednesday again. Her most recent acting role was in the 2015 movie Doctor Spine.
