The Netflix romance docu-reality series Love on the Spectrum US has become a chart-topper, so it’s understandable that viewers are curious about the status of a potential second season.
Considering the success of the Australian series, which spans two seasons and nine episodes and has been well acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, it only makes sense that the streamer would adapt the show for an American audience. Love on the Spectrum U.S. Season 1 Review
In 2012, Channel 4 started a dating show for people with impairments, learning challenges, and developmental issues. The Undateables gave disabled people much-needed media representation. Netflix released its own version of this popular format in 2019, focusing on autism in Australia. Now Netflix has an American version of the show you can binge.
The uplifting reality series returns with the same formula. Voiceovers introduce each episode’s love hopes. Family and friends help us get to know these autistic people in their homes. Individuals express why they want to love and address autism in soundbites. An Autism expert helps first-time daters navigate the dating scene. After a little rehearsal, the crew follows them on their first date.

Jennifer Cook, who was diagnosed with autism at 35, teaches autistic people social stories and roleplay discussion starters. The show doesn’t sugarcoat or objectify its autistic characters. Autism’s social inconsistencies and difficulty with social cues lend to humor, yet autistic persons are never mocked.
It’s a heartwarming series that highlights a forgotten segment of society. A charming, lighthearted docuseries. After a while, this six-part series becomes repetitious because it only follows a few people. Netflix ends shows on unneeded cliffhangers that are superficially edited. Despite those two flaws, this is a heartwarming show. It’s hard to criticize a program that valiantly represents a minority group and normalizes disability in today’s culture.
Love on the Spectrum U.S. Season 2 Plot
Insightful and heartwarming, the docu-reality series follows individuals on the autistic spectrum as they explore romantic relationships. Like the original, award-winning Australian series, this American version follows a varied group of protagonists as they travel across the country in search of the one thing we all want: love.
The next season of Love on the Spectrum is being produced by Australian company Northern Pictures, who also came up with the premise that premiered in Australia originally, and is being overseen by executive producers Karina Holden and Cian O’Clery. Every episode is scheduled to premiere at the same time. We assume the intention is to keep the same format as the previous season.

The network will also announce when the episodes will be available via the streaming service. While a result, we ask that you please be patient with us as we roll out these changes over the next few months. Look back at the previous season in the meantime to get caught up on the plot and the gist of the show.
For your convenience, we’ve laid out a complete rundown of when each episode will air.
