The investigation into a Saturday night robbery and shooting during supper at a mom-and-pop teriyaki restaurant in Seattle that left one guy dead has received no new information from the authorities.
Through a GoFundMe account created by a family friend, the community has so far contributed more than $65,000 to help the family of Hansoo Kim.
According to Rachel Kim, a friend (not related to Hansoo Kim) who created the GoFundMe, Kim, the 58-year-old co-owner of Rainier Teriyaki, is remembered as a dedicated family man and outdoors enthusiast who was always ready to offer a hand and support the people in his life.
According to Rachel Kim, Hansoo Kim is survived by his wife and three kids. The victim’s family has requested privacy as they grieve, she claimed.
A growing tribute of flowers, candles, balloons, and letters was set outside Rainier Teriyaki’s entrance, along with a QR code directing people to the GoFundMe page.

Girmay Zahilay, a councilor for Metropolitan King County, also posted a message on Twitter on Wednesday urging people to show their support for the Hansoo Kim family. “Let’s double down on the work to reduce gun violence, especially in the South End,” he tweeted.
“Let’s wrap his family with love and resources.” The incident occurred inside a restaurant in the 3300 block of Rainier Avenue South around 8 o’clock, according to Seattle police chief Adrian Diaz, who visited the scene on Saturday.
According to Diaz, investigators think three people were involved in the armed robbery and shooting. There have been no arrests made. Police have not provided any updates since that evening.
On Wednesday, Rainier Teriyaki remained closed and is anticipated to be closed indefinitely. On Wednesday night, local shop owners and staff remained on guard.
Due to worries about safety, a nearby restaurant started to close earlier in the day. Owners stated they had started locking the entrance an hour before the customary closing time and only admitted customers she knew or had placed an order. The owners begged to remain anonymous out of concern that they, too, could become the target of violence.
The business owner reported that Seattle police officers visited on Monday to assess the moods of the staff and customers. The cops reportedly informed the owner that they would be patrolling more frequently over the following several days.
She said, “It gets so dark here at night.” Families run enterprises that everyone owns. I’m not sure how I feel without continuous patrols for the upcoming few days. The proprietor reported that she did not see any officers arrive on Wednesday night.
It is somewhat of a neighborhood treasure. It’s a pretty crowded location, especially on the weekends, said Tammy Morales, a Seattle City Councilmember whose family frequently frequents the eatery in District 2, which Morales represents. It’s quite awful for him and his family, the personnel at the restaurant, and the entire locality up there.
Morales claimed that there are notices displayed inside Rainier Teriyaki asking people to be kind to one others, which makes the horrific death even more difficult to swallow.
She stated, “Unfortunately, this senseless violence hits our community frequently. I know that other local business owners are also in mourning and attempting to support one another.

Bruce Harrell, the mayor of Seattle, issued a statement expressing his condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Kim passed away on Thursday due to a torso gunshot wound. Homicide was determined to have been the cause of his death.
