What Life Goals Did Marcella Maxwell Accomplish?
In her family, Maxwell was born in Cleveland, North Carolina, and many of her relatives were teachers. In fact, her grandpa gave land for the town’s first African American grade school. When she was young, she went to New York and got a job as a secretary for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).
The first degree was her bachelor’s degree, and the second was her master’s degree in teaching. After that, she went to Fordham University and got a Ph.D. in school management. In her dissertation, she researched the diverse origins of urban primary school principals.
He also taught English in Puerto Rico and at Bank Street College of Education, where he trained teachers. She did a lot of different jobs at Medgar Evers College for 13 years.
She was involved in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and The Links, Inc., two neighborhood groups where she helped adults with things like Medicare and Social Security. She even worked for the city as a manager under Mayor Edward Koch.
