The Plymouth district attorney revealed Wednesday that a Massachusetts nurse had been charged with killing two of her three young children and abandoning her infant in a critical state before attempting suicide by jumping out of a window. District Attorney Timothy Cruz stated that Lindsay Clancy, 32, will be “arraigned as quickly as feasible” on two charges of homicide for the deaths of Cora Clancy, 5, and Dawson Clancy, 3.
At the same time, she heals in a Boston hospital. According to Cruz, she will also be charged with three charges of strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Cruz refused to confirm if Clancy had postpartum depression, despite there being conjecture based on recent Facebook posts that she did. Cruz stated during the news conference on Wednesday that there are typically more questions than answers in incidents like this.
“We are not here to assume intentions. Investigations are still being conducted on this unfathomable catastrophe.” Tuesday at 6:11 p.m., Clancy’s husband dialed 911 after his wife attempted suicide by leaping from their home’s window in Duxbury, a seaside community approximately 30 miles south of Boston. According to Cruz, responding officers discovered the kids “unconscious with apparent symptoms of trauma.”

At Massachusetts General Hospital, where Clancy works as a labor and delivery nurse, a press release was made on Tuesday. Michael Morrison, the senior director of external communications, expressed his shock and sadness upon learning of the unfathomable tragedy. We offer all those impacted by these tragic events our sincere condolences.
The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office and local police cooperate, and the Massachusetts State Police stated on social media. Col. Christopher Mason said, “Our prayers are with the two true innocents whose young lives were taken and the third who was grievously wounded, as well as with their father, their loved ones, and a community shattered by these events, as we continue to…. investigate the circumstances of yesterday’s horrific crime, and to hold accountable the person responsible.
“The police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and troopers who reacted to this scene of unspeakable suffering are also in our thoughts and prayers. We stand by them to provide assistance and any potential healing.” In a statement released on Thursday, the Duxbury Fire Department said that its staff members and the local first responders who assisted at the scene of the Clancy home on Tuesday night had been offered professional support services. The department stated that tragedies like these are always challenging to understand and process. “We are all still battling a range of emotions.”
