The unnamed developers of Metal Gear Solid Triangle: Snake Eater have said, “We are working hard for Metal Gear Solid Triangle: Snake Eater to be a faithful recreation of the original story and game design while evolving the gameplay with stunning visuals and a seamless user experience.”
according to which the massive porting company Virtuos would be responsible. The release of this game was supposed to herald Konami’s return to the console market. It was speculated that the corporation might remake or remaster other series classics like Silent Hill and Castlevania.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Game
Snake Eater is the fifth Metal Gear game and takes place in the 1960s when Big Boss was known as Naked Snake and the Cold War was in full swing. In 2004, it was released on the PlayStation 2, and later, in an extended form named Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, it was ported to HD for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It’s been called the best game in the series or at least one of the finest.
Since Konami previously announced that Silent Hill 2 would also be getting a remake, this news comes as less of a shock. Given to Bloober Team, the project has remained divisive because of the original’s devoted fanbase and the mixed reception to the updated visuals and new art direction on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC releases.
Due to Hideo Kojima’s dramatic break with Konami several years ago, the future of Snake Eater is likely to be just as precarious. However, the Resident Evil 4 remake proves that updating a 2004 classic can be done successfully.
