Mike McDaniel Career
Throughout his 17-year coaching career, Mike McDaniel served as an offensive assistant. As an assistant coach, he was employed by the Houston Texans, the Washington Redskins, the Cleveland Browns, the Atlanta Falcons, and the San Francisco 49ers between 2017 and 2021. McDaniel is the second head coach in Dolphins history, behind Nick Saban in 2005, to win his first regular season game in charge. As the first rookie head coach in franchise history, he also created history by winning the opening game of the season.
