Tuesday’s accident in Monterey Park involving multiple vehicles resulted in the deaths of two persons and injured six others.
Officials with the Monterey Park Fire Department have stated that the collision took place at approximately three o’clock in the afternoon close to the intersection of Market Place Drive and Potrero Grande Drive.
The events that led up to the incident were not immediately clear, but as soon as it happened, five persons needed medical attention and were rushed to neighboring hospitals. The hospital was unable to save the lives of two of the patients.
Three additional people who were injured were treated for their wounds at the scene, but they declined to be sent to a hospital.

During the time that the authorities were conducting their business in the area, several stores that were in close proximity to the scene of the collision had to close.
Because of the inquiry, one of the two entries into a Costco parking lot was closed, which produced a backup of vehicles that were trying to depart the area.
