Mother of Five People Who Died in a High-speed Collision With a Tree on Thanksgiving Day in Zion is Identified by the Coroner. A grandmother and mother from Zion who died on Thanksgiving Day when her automobile collided with a light pole and a tree has been named by the coroner.
According to Steve Newton, chief deputy coroner for Lake County, Nohemi Carrillo, 40, of Zion, died as a consequence of blunt trauma sustained in a car accident, according to an autopsy.
At 9:32 on Thursday night, the Zion Fire and Rescue Department and Zion Police Department went to the scene of a single-vehicle accident near Ace Hardware, 2660 Sheridan Road. Emergency workers arrived and found a vehicle with considerable damage, according to fire radio communication.
According to witnesses, an Infiniti EX35 off the roadway hit numerous trees and a light pole before coming to a rest, Zion Police Lieutenant Derek Zaloudek said.

Carrillo was the only passenger and the driver was a 38-year-old Waukegan guy. Both had serious injuries and were entrapped within the Infiniti, according to Zaloudek.
A large number of fire units arrived on the spot to help rescue the two victims. According to a radio transmission from the fire department, firefighters successfully extricated both occupants at about 10:15 p.m.
According to Zaloudek, ComEd and Hometown Electric addressed property damage that fell under their authority. Carrillo and the driver were taken by paramedics to local hospitals.
Newton claimed that the woman died after succumbing to her wounds. The collision was referred to the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) for investigation.
According to Zaloudek, the crash was primarily caused by speed and alcohol. Consuelo Reyes, a resident of Winthrop Harbor, described the death of her sister as “an unexpected loss” for her family.
“As you can see, this was not what we had in mind. God was the only one who knew, so he sent for her, according to Reyes. Carrillo has five children, and she also had two grandchildren.
A GoFundMe account established to assist the family with funeral expenses has received more than $3,000 so far. MCAT and the Zion Police Division are still looking into the incident.
