Nearly a dozen burglars hit four businesses in Clermont

Clermont Burglaries

CLERMONT, Fla. – Investigators said 11 burglars used three getaway cars to hit at least four Clermont businesses in one night.

Clermont police said the burglaries happened early Thursday.

Police said the burglars shattered glass doors at Pizzano’s Pizza on State Road 50 and minutes later hit up Wine Regions on U.S. 27.

Shortly after, police got a call about a burglary in progress at Moe’s Southwest Grill also on U.S. 27.

Investigators said a delivery driver walked out of the freezer and saw the burglars inside the restaurant. When the burglars saw the employee, they took off.

The last business police said the burglars hit was a Jersey Mike’s, where police said they shattered the outside pane of the glass front door.

The interior pane was still intact.

“Right now, we have a total of 11 suspects, just from the information that the detectives have obtained this far and three different vehicles,” said Erin Razo, of the Clermont Police Department. “One of those was stolen out of Orange County.”

Investigators said they believe the break-ins are related and are working to identify the burglars.
