Nimona lives! The much-loved fantasy graphic novel by ND Stevenson has inspired a film adaptation that was previously canceled by Blue Sky Studios but has since been brought back to life by Netflix. Following Disney’s closure of its animation studio, Nimona, a fantasy adventure film created using computer animation, will now be made available only through Netflix.

What is Nimona’s Plot?
As was said above, Nimona is based on ND Stevenson’s best-selling graphic novel of the same name, which was first released as a webcomic in 2012 and then as a book in 2015. Here’s what the book’s official summary says:
“Nimona is a young shapeshifter who is impulsive and has a knack for being bad. Lord Ballister Blackheart is a bad guy who wants to get even with someone. As Lord Blackheart’s sidekick and a supervillain, Nimona is about to cause a lot of trouble. Their mission was to show the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his friends at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren’t the heroes everyone thinks they are.
But as small acts of mischief turn into a brutal fight, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona’s powers are just as cloudy and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side could be more dangerous than he is willing to admit.
The Official Plot Summary for Nimona on Netflix Reads:
“A Knight is framed for a crime he didn’t do, and the only person who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona, a shape-shifting teen who might also be a monster he swore to kill. This story takes place in a techno-medieval world that hasn’t been done in animation before. It’s about the labels we give people and the shapeshifter who refuses to be labeled by anyone.”

Nimona Release date
It’s difficult to predict when an animated movie will come out. We know that the movie will be released in 2023. Sources say that the movie was about 75% done when it was still at Blue Sky Studios. Now that Netflix and Annapurna Pictures are working together to finish the movie, it’s not clear if they need to go back and fix things or if they’ll just keep going with what they’ve already done. The movie will have animation by DNEG Animation. I think it won’t come out until at least the second quarter of 2023.

Nimona Main Voice Cast
Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Tom & Jerry), Riz Ahmed (Rogue One, Sound of Metal, Venom), and Eugene Lee Yang are the three main voice actors for Netflix’s Nimona (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Moretz will be the voice of Nimona. Ahmed is set to be Ballister Boldheart, and Yang is set to be Ambrosius Goldenloin.
Is there a Nimona Trailer?
Since Netflix is bringing the movie back to life, there isn’t a trailer for Nimona yet. So far, all we have is the first picture. Since the movie won’t come out until 2023, an official trailer probably won’t come out until next year. I would be surprised, though, if Netflix didn’t release any teasers or more pictures before the end of 2022.
