Patrick Gasienica, a U.S. ski jumper who competed in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, has passed away. He was 24. The community of Bull Valley, located in Chicago’s far northwest suburbs, is where Gasienica was killed in a motorcycle acc!dent on Monday night.

USA Nordic tweeted, “Patrick was an incredible competitor, teammate, and friend.” Gasienica placed 49th and 53rd in his events in the Beijing Olympics, and his team of Casey Larson, Kevin Bickner, and Decker Dean placed 10th.
