Plane Crash Venice Florida: The search for a single-engine plane that went down in the Gulf of Mexico after taking off from Venice resulted in the discovery of the bodies of a mother and a kid. A report from the FAA indicates the plane took off from Venice Municipal Airport at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities said that it sank into the Gulf of Mexico soon afterward.
Sunday morning, after the plane still hadn’t returned to St. Petersburg, authorities launched an investigation. It was eventually located a quarter of a mile west of the airport, in the water. A total of three persons were thought to be aboard the rented Piper Cherokee, according to the FAA. The Venice Police Department has confirmed that a toddler and an adult are aboard the jet; divers recovered the body of the youngster from within the plane.

The Venice Police Department reported that recreational divers discovered the body of a woman in the water at roughly the same time as the investigation was launched. According to the authorities, she was on a doomed flight. Authorities have stated they have a list of everyone they believe was aboard the plane at the time of the disaster, but they are delaying releasing it until they have told the families of those people and received clearance from federal agencies.
Until it gets dark, Venice police will keep looking for the missing man. If conditions permit, they will keep looking the next morning, too. The commercial pilot and flight instructor J.P. Dice said the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will look into every possible explanation for the disaster. From the flight controls to the engine, everything will be disassembled and examined, Price said.
The avionics, or the plane’s electronics, will be examined. The pilot’s qualifications, including his or her history and experience, as well as the current weather, will be examined. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office and Police Department are all contributing to the inquiry.
