Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Update 1.2 Confirmed: Nintendo and Game Freak say that the next update for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will come out pretty soon. The latest main series Pokemon game has been out for a couple of months on Nintendo Switch, but to say that it still has some technical problems would be an understatement. People who play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can’t wait for another update, hoping that Game Freak will fix their ongoing problems.
Update 1.1 for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet came out in early December 2022. Even though it caused some confusion at first, it didn’t fix most of the technical problems in the RPGs. Instead, the update focused on a big new feature for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: the start of the first season of Ranked Battles. The patch did fix a few other bugs, but nothing too important. Since then, people who like Pokemon have had to wait for the next update.

We can now say for sure that the next big update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will come in late February. Even though it’s not ideal to have to wait another month and a half for an update, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players now have a date to look forward to. The 1.2 updates are said to have “added functionality” and “fixed bugs.” No other information was given, so the way it works is still a mystery. There was no talk of making changes to fix problems with performance.
From what has been said about patch 1.2, it is easy to see how it is similar to the 1.1 updates for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Bug fixes and new features are the best way to describe the few changes and Ranked Battles update from the beginning of December 2022, which disappointed fans. If patch 1.2 is also missing, even though it’s only been three months, a bigger argument could start.
The problem is that Game Freak has never been known for making games quickly, in part because its games have always been very polished and didn’t need updates after they came out. But things have changed with the move to 3D Pokemon games and the support for post-launch expansions and DLC. Pokemon may not be ready for a live service setting from Game Freak.
Almost nothing is known about patch 1.2 for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet at this point. It’s possible that it will give Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the technical improvements that Pokemon fans think they need so badly. If not, there will need to be a conversation about the future of Pokemon at the end of February.
You can now get Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on Nintendo Switch.
