In Ulster According to Lt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, a man who was struck by a car driven by a guy from Greene County while he was crossing the street in the Ulster town faces probable breaches of New York State vehicle and traffic law. The driver of the car, who was 73 years old and from Coxsackie, was not given a name by the authorities.
A 24-year-old Esopus male is the injured pedestrian, who is likewise unidentified, according to Sciutto. Deputies were called to the scene of a pedestrian collision on October 1 at about 3 p.m. in the Town of Ulster near the intersection of Route 9W and Frank Sottile Boulevard. According to Sciutto, an examination of the incident showed that the individual tried to cross Route 9W by darting into the flow of traffic.

The pedestrian collided with a Honda Accord that was being driven north by the Coxsackie woman while traffic was flowing both ways. After receiving many reports of the collision, Ulster County 911 dispatched Ulster Hose Fire Department and Mobile Life to the area. Following the incident, the man shattered his leg and was brought to Kingston Hospital by Mobile Life, according to Sciutto.
While crews worked, traffic was limited in the area. According to Sciutto, no fines were given to the driver because he had a green light, was driving through traffic, and had the right-of-way. For failing to give way to all vehicles on the road, the injured pedestrian may have broken New York State vehicle and traffic laws, according to Sciutto. The inquiry is still ongoing. Town of Ulster Police, as well as state police, provided assistance to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office at the incident.
